So last night my beloved Spacegoat trotted into Naxx25 for the first time. I managed to not die a lot, which pleased me greatly. We cleared 3 wings, and I found Loatheb a much more enjoyable fight to heal as a priest. For that fight, I shuffle healers around so that there’s one per group (and a spare, in this case). Everyone was responsible for their group and the other healer shored up whoever looked like they needed it. Prayer of Healing made the job a cinch compared to the method I used as a holy pally, which was “heal the lowest 2/3 and sacred shield the others”. Whoever said “Oh you can cast holy light and with the glyph, not worry about healing the rest of the group!” is living on some other weird fucking planet. I’d also penance whoever looked to be in the most danger, though I’d occasionally lose a pulse, it looked like. Grrr.
It was weird, being the undergeared one. I blithely ignored the healing meters-we had two excellent trees along with us, anyway, and nothing leaves me more bored than good resto druids. Our healing team is actually really strong these days and I’m pleased as fuck about it. Regardless, I hope that the Naxx10 we have planned for this weekend will drop more epics on me. It’s not that I’m not “fine” for Naxx in the gear that I have (18oo sp, wee!)-just that I got somewhat spoiled by Ambrosyne’s good luck and quick gearing, because the competition for spellpower/crit plate is nothing compared to the same for cloth. Damn mages! I find myself reluctant to spend DKP on something that, while an upgrade, might keep me from getting that BiS item that could drop on the next boss…gaaaah. I need to stop that.
And yes-Ambrosyne is still holy. With her gear intact. While she will likely go tankadin once again for me, just because, she’s been holy for too much of her career for me to permantly put that aside. But April Fool’s being what it was, I had to toss out something, and I figured that was more believeable than going ret. ;)
For now, I’m the only disc priest-Ron is away. But when he’s back I’ll start experimenting with making the most of having two in a raid.

Heh, it was a good one because it’s entirely plausible these days. I have lost rolls on some of the best hunter loot in the game to someone who just randomly decided to change their main. I’m still using the crafted gun, for example :(

Loatheb as disc is probably one of the easiest fights in Naxx. Just get the crit buff and you’ll pretty much keep your group alive with one precasted PoH, spend the rest of the time helping others and always keep your PWS on cooldown as shield works even when heals don’t :)

Welcome to priestly raiding, it’s a blast :D. Really sounds like BoO is comign together to become a 25 man force, in a couple of weeks you guys will prolly being doing full single night clears.
And i wasn’t fooled for a moment, when i asked you whether or not you were actually going to vendor her items, I was just testing you… yeah… that’s it >.>

@euripidesoutdps: The thing is that I did not “randomly” decide the change mains-it’s been in the process for months. :) I’m not an agressive gear-getter in raids, though. They had no trouble out bidding me left and right on gear last night. :P
I think it’s better for everyone around me, though, if I’m a happy priesty and not a bitter paladin. I burned out on pally healing pre-3.0, which is why I went tankadin. When I went healing again for the ‘good of the guild’ when we had too many tanks, this was already on the horizon.

I adore the priest healing on Loatheb, I’d actually love to try it as good as solo (on 25!), but I can’t really say “guys, just go pew pew and I don’t want QQ”. I think I posted my little tactic about healing Loatheb (as holy) on Dueg’s site as a comment. (Maby I should make a post out of it…)

Welcome to the dark side of healing Loatheb, Muahaha! (or light side I guess… technically). Loatheb, like Naj’entus in BT, is very very easy with Prayer of Healing. Ostensibly he is there to mix it up and challenge healers, but for us it kind of boils down to cast PoH every 20 seconds, proceed to loot. :)

All your rants against pally healing slay me! LOL!
DKP comes and goes. Loot comes and goes. Although I will never try to outbid a main healer that I feel needs the upgrade (you scared the crap out of me when Zoja kept saying ‘No bids. No bids.’), I will make bids for items for any legitimate upgrades whether something better could drop because until then I need all the help I can get.

@Kyr: I’m an angry pally healer, I can’t help it anymore. :P And I’m just…ugh, I hate DKP. Like, when I go shopping, I’ll spend a lot of time wandering around with stuff and deciding if it’s “worth” buying. I’ll waffle forever, and decide against stuff, and then sometimes change my mind and want it again, etc etc. When you attribute a “cost” to something and give me a very finite amount to “spend”, then all of a sudden I become this crazy little spendthrift-which uh, doesn’t get me terribly far with DKP. Spend over TWENTY dkp when I had only SEVENTY? ZOMG! BUT IF I DO THAT I MIGHT NOT BE ABLE TO GET SOMETHING ELSE LATER. END OF WORLD. AAAH. I act like it’s money and buying X now means I won’t be able to, I dunno, afford food later.
I hate having only a few seconds to decide if I want something. it does not give me enough time to THINK IT THROUGH. AAAH.
I’m a tardbucket.

Make sure that for fights with a main and off tank in 25 Naxx, you assign the two discipline priests to different tanks. Other than that, it really does work well with two in the 25 raid. Sometimes we even end up with one of us raid healing but it is all okay.
