Loot Mobile Strats: 2 Towers

Warning: Having not attempted FL+Towers yet, This is merely me “translating” strats.  However this is how I’d deliver strats on a new fight anyway, so!

FL Two Towers
(because why start with one when two is better?)

Tower of Storms and Tower of Flames sound like the easiest two to leave up, but YMMV.  Here’s an idea of what the easiest three towers do:

Tower of Storms up:  THE LIGHT, IT BURNS.  Pretend you’re a vampire and GTFO light beams, okay?  Also boosts his physical DPS, so don’t give him hugs.

Tower of Flames: Blah blah blah, flaming orbs fall in a diamond pattern going clockwise starting from the-oh fuck it, STAY OUT OF THE FIRE.  This is not a new concept.  This boosts his fire damage as well, so the Siege Engines might want to actually pay attention to the Flame Jets now.

Tower of Frost: If you see a beam of light lock on you, MOVE.  If someone is a fucking scrub and doesn’t move, use a fire attack to de-ice them.

Freya’s tower does something…worse.  With…plants.  So er, don’t play with that one.

So in even shorter terms:  BEAMS OF LIGHT AND FIRE ARE BAD.

During the fight:
Fling people at the boss ASAP.  One should be an off-healer, but not necessarily a full healer.  Chopper folks, you need to stop being scrubs and actually pick up the god damn people we launch.   Look for people with raid marks on their heads running around in a panic.

Except for siege engines interrupting flame jets, everyone needs to stay WAY THE FUCK AWAY FROM THE BOSS. Most of your DPS will be during the shut down phase, so drivers shouldn’t hesitate to spent the entire time running the hell away and staying out of The Bad.  Once a shut down occurs, PEW PEW LIKE CRAZY.  After the first shut down, passengers should be sure to shoot down pyrite and refill for the next PEW PEW LIKE CRAZY session.  Rinse and repeat.  Don’t forget to set tar on fire and kite him through it!

EDIT:  Some raids don’t bother to fling anyone up-it can be easier to just have the demo’s spam their 2 buttons and keep their pyrite debuff stacked and burn him down.  HOWEVER, if you want to progress to more towers, where causing Loot Mobile to shut down is well-nigh required, it is reccomended that you practice during FL+2.  Lrn2notfail during +2 when having a chopper driver in la la land won’t be so fatal.  Er, well, not fatal for anyone but the poor sap on the ground.

    Our strat for FL+2?

Shoot down an ass ton of pyrite, keep 10 stacks on him the whole time. Avoid the light beams. Collect loot.

Causing the shutdown actually takes longer.

Can I make a request for the next one?

Ignis and his “pocket o’ love”, please?

I keep trying to get my RL to use your strat methods but he won’t listen to me. Some nonsense about me laughing so hard that I wouldn’t retain anything.

So I have decided that since we all need more comedy in our lives to start quoting you during strat run-downs. Which is why I need more fuel!

As one who is often flung (shadow priest) I am most vexed when no chopper comes to save me.

“Shoot down an ass ton of pyrite, keep 10 stacks on him the whole time. Avoid the light beams. Collect loot.”

This. Continual ten stack (not just during shutdown) makes it EZ mode.

    <3 Funneh strats.

“Look for people with raid marks on their heads running around in a panic.”

That’s usually me. If the raid icon doesn’t say anything, look for the mage in the giant block of ice that I cast on myself because mommy forgot to pick me up after school in the dead of winter and I froze.

Or, rather, lots of fire and beams of light were coming down from the sky and rather than try to avoid anything, I’ll just make myself immune to it for 10 seconds. And if I don’t get picked up in 10 seconds, I’m screwed anyway.

I’m in a guild that has just started doing FL+1 and +2, and I’ll reinforce the “stack Pyrite” comments. Everything else matters too, but pyrite is how you win.

You need good communication between your driver+gunner, to keep stocked with fresh pyrite. Without that communication, you can’t keep a stack going.

Once you can keep a stack going, you’ll be blown away by how good it is.

Agreed re pyrite stacks – although we still shoot people up.

    Our set up

5 Seige Engines (only 4 passengers)
5 Demolishers (3 passengers loaded BEFORE the fight + 5 others in the vehicles)
    3 bikes (1 per passenger)

Assign the bikes a dude or dudette each to get (and mark them). We have 2 rotating teams of people shot up so its all pyrite all the time.

Now if only we could get people to kill the damn plants on 10 man – its like oh noes why is plants on my face?

You are right about which towers to leave up. In order of difficulty its Thorim (easiest by far), Mimiron, Hodir, Freya (hardest by far)

<3 your strats. Pretty good for never having done it with 2 towers !

stack pyrite, don't stand in shit, collect loot. FTW

We one shot 3 towers consistently, only taking down the green tower. Since we’ve been trying to get maximum attempts on Yogg, we’ve not been taking on 4 towers or any other hard modes – just doing the mad dash to Yoggs prison.

Like everyone else, we shoot down a crap-ton of pyrite while we’re getting vehicles sorted. We have 5 demos, 3 of which are loaded with a driver and 2 launchees each. We kinda go back and forth on engines and bikes.

The gunners on the engines only job is to shoot down pyrite. Gunners on the demos shoot down pyrite and pick up more at 50%. Demos drivers do everything they can to keep up 10 stacks of pyrite.
It’s a fun fight, and doesn’t have to be executed 100% perfect to come away with loot.

I’m looking forward to 4 towers… but first we really owe Yogg a facepwning.
