Yeah… works for pretty much any gathering profession – just replace “Flower!” with “Shiny!”

  3. #3 by koalabear21 on February 26, 2010 - 11:53 am

    Or just “yellow dot!”

  4. #4 by Oasic on February 26, 2010 - 11:57 am

Heh, so true! So happy the priest isn’t a gatherer.

Also, ok, if I get demoted for saying casted, what is the punishment for “_an_ Herbalist”?

  5. #5 by Splat on February 26, 2010 - 12:04 pm

My wife’s 1st 80 has herbalism. THIS POST IS 100% FACTUAL!

  6. #6 by Carina on February 26, 2010 - 12:09 pm

I’m in a leveling team that contains 1 (one) herbalist (my pocket healer) and 1 (one) Miner (me).

45 seconds after going after heading out, our party communication contains mainly “DOT!” “DOT!” “DOT!”.

I think my herbalist has actually macroed it. XD

  7. #7 by Ori on February 26, 2010 - 12:14 pm

@Oasic My official ruling is that an herbalist is correct. :P Unless you pronounce the h.

    Also, so true.

I hear you’re supposed to listen to Afroman while herbalizing…

  9. #9 by grimmtooth on February 26, 2010 - 12:46 pm

    Made my day!

This is definitely NOT the case for a miner, because quest areas are rarely on the outer edge of a zone. Thus I deem miners more HARD CORE than the hippy flower pickers.

And get a hair cut, slacker!

  11. #11 by Splat on February 26, 2010 - 2:07 pm

@Carina My wife DID in fact make a macro for asking whatever party we were in if she could stop and pick flowers.

  12. #12 by Chris on February 26, 2010 - 2:08 pm

Holy crap. This cracked me up enough that my I had to try to explain it to my cube mate. This is exactly why my lock is only level 24.

  13. #13 by Souci on February 26, 2010 - 3:53 pm

zomg totally nailed it – i even have a macro to alert any other members in my party that there is a PLANT! that i’m going after – just so they’ll know why it’s taking me so long to get to where they are =)

  14. #14 by Ophelie on February 26, 2010 - 4:07 pm

….how did you know how I level my herbalists?

  15. #15 by Kyrstellaine on February 26, 2010 - 4:37 pm

So true, so true! It was especially crazy when we got to Freya’s room.

  16. #16 by Corr on February 26, 2010 - 4:45 pm

Lmao!! This is me!! They used to tease me on vent because I would announce every 10 or 15 seconds “flower” to explain why I was trailing behind my questing buddies. I’ve long since stopped questing/leveling, but they still poke fun at me by saying “flower” at random times or chiming in with the occasional “herb!” instead.

  17. #17 by Cayleb on February 26, 2010 - 4:56 pm

This is soooo true for any gatherer. In fact, just the other….

    Ooooh, shiny!

…uh, what was I talking about?

  18. #18 by Melfina the Blue on February 26, 2010 - 7:15 pm

It’s even better when the gatherer is the healer.
heal heal heal… ooh yellow dot! GATHER!
Um, why are all these mobs coming to eat my face and where’s the tank?

  19. #19 by Celinne on February 28, 2010 - 5:31 pm

Totally agree with this flowchart, my friend that i tend to quest/lvl alts with is always like:

“ok so next up we can go kill those guys over there for X quest, and then we can follow this path to go pick up Y item for this other quest and then…..”

*Notices i went off the path to pick up herb/mine…*

“….just let me know when u’re actually coming for the quest >.>”
