These screen shots (and more!) brought to you by a dozen or so attempts on LK 10. We seemed stuck at phase 2, but that’s typical for us. We hit a wall, wander off for the night, then come back next time with a fresh look and storm on ahead. At one point I was laughing so hard I couldn’t breathe, though, so it wasn’t a bad night at all. XD I hope I didn’t use too much levity to counter the wipes! There’s a fine balance between “enough sillyness to break the tension” and “so much silly we’re not focusing”.
I’ll come back with some constructive disc priest tips, and an overall strat, once I’ve…you know…seen the rest of the fight. I can say that disc priests are pretty hax in this encounter, though. OM NOM NOM BUBBLES.
I have more screenshots, but I didn’t get to go through them all last night and edit them for blogging. So on to a few from the altitis weekend!
Now that I’ve hit the 60s, I need to get beyond “castery type stats” as a gearing plan. LEVELING GUIDE, HO.
Death Knight Ambrosine doesn’t actually feel ready for this DK nub tanking business. I cried a little inside when I ended up with warlock in the party–they’re the bane of my WoW existance. Way to be cruel for my first time tanking as a DK, Blizz. :P
BABY MOO DRUIDS. :D We’re trying to come up with some good RP concepts for that pair, but I’ve always struggled with Tauren for some reason.

Ugh RP…
They escaped the slaughter house, and now is on the run from the Burger King.
BTW you removed my blog completely from your blogroll..sniffles.

The hardcore guild I’m in really hit a wall for awhile on Lich King with his Defile + Val’kyrs phase. Once we got that down, the last phase for whatever reason didn’t seem as dicey.
The strategy we found some success on was to stack up off-center for valks, and do a spread out – then collapse maneuver for Defiles — spread out, Defile gets called, then collapse back on the boss. Anyone who could safely ignore getting picked up by a valk didn’t have to stack up. The general idea was to make sure groups of people weren’t stuck in a Defile.
It may seem counter-intuitive, especially for a melee dps like myself, but surviving Defiles is more important that dps’ing the boss.
GL in any case, glad you’ve made it that far. :)

lol the defiles in that screenshot are nothing. first time my guild got there on ten we missed the announce on the defile so the entire raid got hit at once. fastest wipe i have ever seen and i swear the platform was entirely covered with that defile.

@Protopethunter
We did that “all the group in defile” once too. I’m sure Amber as a screenshot somewhere.
@Amber

@Pope – That pretty much IS a defile covering the entire platform. XD I missed getting a screenie of it even bigger, becuase it poofed once it nommed the last raider.

Tauren are so relentlessly level-headed and pragmatic it gives them an RP hack.
Take a concept that would be endless drama with a blood elf, Forsaken, orc, etc. Give it to the tauren and watch them handle it with a shrug and a sigh.
Good potential for comedy there.

Counting as 5 phases for Lich King, 3 is the worst. And disc priests are haxs… go, go guarenteed raid slot. Phase 5 isn’t too bad. Spot mind sears on the floaty bad spirits in the air if no one on the ground is in immediate danger of dieing. If they come down everyone is in danger of dieing.
