I want to find whoever thought it would be an awesome idea to give spirit beasts multiple spawn points and beat them soundly.
Back in The Day, I camped Humar. He had a 7 hour spawn timer but only appeared in one place. He was easy to camp–you sat under the tree and waited. If someone else tamed him, you knew it and could wander off until later.
You don’t have that luxury with Loque. Maybe he spawned somewhere else and was killed, or was tamed, but you’d never know. You just know that you must do laps around Sholozar, forever, because when you leave is when he will spawn. You know it.
I spent a good 5 hours of my snow day doing periodic laps around the basin between camping my favorite spot. Once when I was tabbed out reading I heard SilverDragon ping. Oh my god! He sp–
No. No, King Krush apparently spawns in that location, too. Hopes dashed and anger riled, I tamed out him of spite.
Just in damn for another hunter to swoop down and say “Gwuh”. Oops.
I’M SORRY I HAD TO TAME HIM ME MADE ME ANGRY. NOW HE SHALL FOREVER BE FORCED TO DO MY BIDDING.
By this point, years into my casual hunt, it’s comically exasperating. I have tamed–or passed up the chance to tame–every other Wrath spirit beast. I did exactly one pass searching for Gondria and found the other two by accident. I’ve stumbled across the other two rares in Sholozar. Yet the beast I actually search for eludes me.

After a week solid of hunting Loque back in Wrath and mining a few thousand Saronite, the rush of adrenaline when I found him was at least equal to an exhilarating raid kill. Perhaps MORE SO. I was so scared someone would swoop in and murder him in mid-tame, or that I would screw something up, or etc. Keep trying, Loque will be yours eventually! :D

Don’t hate me. I’ve never camped a spirit beast, and I have all except Arcturis (whom I am currently camping :p). Every once in awhile, I’d pass thru all the Northrend spawn points for all the beasts. That’s how I got, first, Gondria, then Skoll. A couple weeks ago, I thought…wth…logged in about midday, starting doing a pass in Sholazar for Loque…and BAM!
Then, I hit 85 on my hunter last Friday. Five minutes later (literally: I checked my chat logs) I had Ghostcrawler.

If it makes you feel any better, I looked for Loque off and on for little over 2 years before my troll got him. I had a friend find him a week or so ago, he actually thought about killing him at first but then changed his mind and asked if anyone was after him. My troll was already parked in Sholazar (because I had been poking around for him all the past week >.>) so I toon-hopped and flew over, and he was mine.
… In a nutshell? Don’t give up, you’ll find him when you’re not expecting to. Also, recruiting friends helps! :D

Spent many days at the end of Wrath circling around for Loque and then said “screw this!”… After lvling to 85 in cata, decided I’d give it another shot during the Hunting Party Podcast one Saturday. First pass and he was there… The RNG gods finally smiled upon me. I then proceeded to track down Ghostcrawler and tame him a few minutes later. These are the only 2 SBs I have and my stable is almost full already so no desire to track down the others. The bad thing is that I don’t like the sound that Loque makes; this annoying weird wet-flappy ears sound… not cool.
