About ILB

Amber (Lyrandre), the priestly half of the bubbly duo, has played WoW since January of ’05.  She leveled her holy paladin slow as hell (year +, ugh), but then went on to become a HARD CORE RAIDER OMG.

She’s flopped from holy pally, to BM hunter, to prot pally, to holy pally, to disc priest as mains over the years.  Altitis, that is me.

Outside of WoW, Amber is 25 and lives in the suburbs of Chicago.  A Coastie’s daughter, she’s lived hither and yon but called California home, mostly.  Thus she finds Chicago cold and bitches about it constantly.  She wants to save the world, but this seems to require a college degree she can’t afford, so in the meantime she’s just a receptionist.  She loves horses more than anything in the world EVER but thinks ponies are demon spawn.  Trufax-ponies are out to rule the world.

Cel (Orithea), the tasty paladin flavored bubble, started playing WoW in April of 2008, after avoiding it for years because she has no self-control when it comes to play time.  She leveled a Horde warlock because she wanted to be OMG EVILLLL, and managed to raid her way through T5 content before Wrath hit, at which point she switched to her paladin.

She started off Wrath as a tankadin, switched to heal dispenser, then priestly bubble machine, and back to holy paladin.  There was also a faction change in there somewhere, as she realized that draenei have far superior boobs.

Cel is actually named Sara, but no one ever calls her that.  She’s 24 and lives in the DC Metro area, but grew up in North Carolina which is completely evident when she talks.  She is an English major with some progress on a Masters of Library Science, and has worked as an elementary school teacher in the past because she thinks its fun to confuse little children.  Her current goal in life is to own a dachshund and a corgi so they can be stumpy leg best friends.

I’ve never left a comment on your blog, but reading your character history for the first time today is seriously like reading an auto-biography! My main, Ashellia, turned Holy during SSC after realizing her only use involved tanking murlocs on Tidewalker.

These days, I’m either completely in love with being Ashellia or absolutely dismal (depending on how the gear matches). I sympathize with your switch to a Disc priest. Cosmetically, I really wanted a super cool, levitating Draenei priest of my own! I’m so invested in Ashellia (both gear-wise and from an RP stance) that it’s nice to live vicariously while reading about your own switch. I envy a class that can cover nearly three pieces of gear with a robe if necessary.

Wait your from Chicago, so am I. I’m glad I added you to my blogroll. I like showing Chicago love.

I started my career in WoW as a pallie healer. Got burned out. Now I play a mage.

Writing in the third person is freaky. Because you have written in this way, I believe with that should be shadow instead of disc :D.

Nice blog! Found this place through a link on reddit’s wow subreddit. Where are you doing your MLS Cel? I started at Catholic this summer, but stil have enough time to slowly pvp my way to 80 on my disc priest (while I agonize if I want to use him, the druid, or the paladin in cata).
