So about that pattern.

Mim wasn’t a smooth waltz in and one shot, but we still improved by leaps and bounds and he did, eventually, fall.  And drop loot that no one really cared for because we all had better-go figure.

And as they descended down the shattered hallway, Lyrandre stopped to gape.  In all her years, she’d seen nothing quite like this.  What had rampaged down this hallway with so little care for the timeless beauty?

Oh.  That.

This fight proved that the healers of BoO are amazing.  Why are we amazing? Because not only did we do a lovely job of keeping the tank up, but we kept the tank up despite one of the DPS failing at shadow crash seven mother fucking times.  And that’s only the one DPS, mind.  A couple of others failed it a less-failtacular but still WTF-inducing 4 times.  Quit staring at the meters, guys.  Seriously.

Oh and don’t pull aggro.  *stares*

After Mimiron he actually seemed rather easy.

On to Yoggy!

Vezax strat will come out as soon as I…figure out what everyone else was actually doing.

Vezax sure is much easier than Mim but we did have good healers ;)

As for moving out of shadow crash…seriously how hard can it be to move 10 yards when a BIG FUCKING BLUE WARNING appears on your screen saying you’re the target of a shadow crash!

I’m starting to think that some dps dont have DBM/Bigwig installed at all.

But anyway, we killed him on our 3rd try so its not too bad imo.

We spent about a million years on General… but then the warrior tank and the marks hunter’s (<—) Silencing Shot were our only reliable interrupts. Had a couple ret pallies and a spell-steal on backup but yeah. I didn't actually DPS, just stood there and waited for the cast bar.

Congrats. With a brand-new merger this week, we’re back to considering XT “progression” instead of one-shotting the first 6 bosses in 2 hours. :(

But we have a lot of good people now, so we’ll get there pretty quickly!

  4. #4 by Vorian87 on September 17, 2009 - 11:05 am

    grats on the kills!

and there is a chat command to see who in the raid/party has dbm installed… but for the life of me i cannot remember at the moment.

  5. #5 by Ambrosyne on September 17, 2009 - 11:06 am

@Kotakh – Wanna know somethin’? ….Steve doesn’t have DBM. Or he didn’t, for a long time. Of course, Steve is the type of player who pays enough attention to NOT NEED IT, which some of our DPS…is not.

I think it took until Ulduar for me to convince Phaseroll to get Omen.

Me, I know I’m scatterbrained enough to need to extra warnings, and it’s just SO helpful as a healer dealing with debuffs.

  6. #6 by Mikata on September 17, 2009 - 11:08 am

Replying on my phone is phail.

Anyway, we dun gud last nite.

I’m looking forward to Yogg, gogo!! :D

  7. #7 by Ambrosyne on September 17, 2009 - 11:08 am

@Jez – yeah, we had a DK (and then, a rogue) and a fury warrior on interrupt duty. They didn’t exactly appear on DPS meters.

  8. #8 by theerivs on September 17, 2009 - 11:08 am

    Go Go BoO

  9. #9 by tytalus on September 17, 2009 - 11:20 am

Vezax seemed simple enough in 10s the last time my guild attempted him (they’re concentrating on 25s lately, not getting nearly as far in). Maybe it’s easier to spread out. We had that same feeling of easy, too. But congrats in any case!

I built a DK on Azgalor just for grins…looks like BoO raids earlier than I could, anyway. But Amber made the PvP server sound not so bad, so I had to take a look. Previously I had figured they were all rampant gankfests.

grats on your progression, Yogg is a real choke point for many of groups so don’t get frustrated if you wipe /alot/
General V’s health got cut recently which is what makes him such a lovable squishy thing now, he used to have a huge mountain of health that only accented the stress he can put on heals.

i want a vezax plush, somewhere between 1ft and 2ft tall.

  11. #11 by Prot on September 17, 2009 - 11:47 am

Grats on the Mimiron kill. We attempted it the first time last week and as a guildie said we got “roflstomped”. Multiple times. I have no idea what he actually does because as far as I could tell he just goes BAM!! Tank dead, you all fail, start over again.
So, when will we be reading about your Yogg kill? are you going back in or raid locking this thing?

  12. #12 by Xefeas on September 17, 2009 - 11:49 am

    You should go holy.

  13. #13 by Mikata on September 17, 2009 - 12:15 pm

Hahahahaha…. you just made my day.

  14. #14 by Kotakh on September 17, 2009 - 1:15 pm

@Prot – We’re going back to kill Yogg on monday.

@Amber – As a healer i couldnt live without DBM since my eyes are pretty much glued to grid at all time (and at my feet to make sure i move out of the fuckking fire of course)

  15. #15 by Ambrosyne on September 17, 2009 - 1:50 pm

@Xefeas – Die. In a fire. With no heals.

@Kotakh – One of my eaaaarliest posts was a “hey DPS, I know when you’re dying. Here, see what I see!” And it was a SS if grid, my feet, and the chat log for alerts.

@Prot – Out DPS isn’t quite fast enough to get Mim down before three…er, Plasma Blasts? Those things that one shot your tank. Zoja blew Shield Wall for one, I did Pain Suppression for the next, and then our OT picked up the boss for the third and blew HIS cooldowns.

In other words, it’s good practice for Vezax. Just takes some coordination and luck. :)

This is already an extended lock out, so if we don’t down Yoggy on Monday, I think we’l start over in favor of gearing some of our newer people. I have a disc priest student who needs to get in. :D

  16. #16 by Aberron on September 17, 2009 - 1:51 pm

Vezzax is a great fight. I never get to go melee because we never have enough ranged and always have a pally healer.

It’s mental, I move more in this fight than in Hodir.

Disc owns us Holy guys here. Switched just to clear him then made Holy work once the pressure was off.

  17. #17 by Adgamorix on September 17, 2009 - 2:22 pm

For Vezack – if you’re Disc, go stand in the shadow crash pools and toss your shield on the tank – it costs 75% less, but heals for full and returns the full amount of mana back on absorbtion.

  18. #18 by Myssidia on September 17, 2009 - 2:31 pm

    Grats on the kills!

Also, Im in ur gild forums postin applikayshunz. =]

  19. #19 by Ambrosyne on September 17, 2009 - 3:55 pm

@Adgamorix – I opted not to do that in 10s because I still use penance, but it’s something I’m keeping in mind for 25s.

  20. #20 by Sephirah on September 17, 2009 - 4:32 pm

“Our DPS isn’t quite fast enough to get Mim down before three…er, Plasma Blasts?”

Our dps wasn’t quite fast enough to do that either at first. We had a pally tank eat the first one with their 50% dmg bubble and (this was before AD was OP) then the pally HEALER did a bubble/divine sacrifice combination for the second. The prot Warrior took the other two as we never had a disc priest until just recently.

  21. #21 by Xefeas on September 17, 2009 - 4:36 pm

I just want to say I was kidding before, go go Disc Priests. :) I’ve been reading this blog for a few months now and found the perfect time to insert a smartass-tastic comment. Best of luck on Yogg!

    Xefeas – Bloodhoof

  22. #22 by Silk on September 17, 2009 - 8:14 pm

Grats on the progression guys :)

We too found Mim to be a lot harder than the previous keepers and Vezax. Vezax is a gimmicky fight – once you “get” the giimick he dies pretty easily.

Yogg is a really fun fight though, took us a while to learn but enjoyable. Especially when he finally ate it :)

  23. #23 by Cassandri on September 18, 2009 - 2:54 am

We got lucky and got Vezax within a few attempts of killing Mimiron (which we struggled over for a while) but then when we came back really struggled to get Vezax again. LOL. I hope the same doesn’t happen to you.

I don’t remember Shadow Crash being too bad but you can get pretty easily messed up running back from a Crash only to run into someone else’s.

I guess I have some sympathy for your fail dps :P

  24. #24 by Beruthiel on September 18, 2009 - 3:44 pm

“despite one of the DPS failing at shadow crash seven mother fucking times.”

    This…never…changes. No, really.

I am utterly amazed at how many people still fail at this every flippin’ week.

But, a tip that we found helped a lot, is to make sure that all of your ranged have their chat bubbles turned on in their WoW interface (under “social” options I believe), and then have “chat on shadow crash” or whatever it is turned on in DBM/Big Wigs. It’s a lot harder to ignore them when everyone around you is spamming chat bubbles =)

And hey! You like bubbles, so it’s win-win, right? -_-

I would like to save this specific posting, “So about that pattern.
I Like Bubbles” on my very own website.
Do you really mind if I reallydo? Thank you ,Sergio
