Hello, Goodbye…
Posted by Amber Teasdale in Stuff and Things on May 23, 2012
I think it’s past time to close up shop here at ILB land. I don’t have a lot of WoW talk to share these days, and despite making an attempt or two, can’t bring myself to blog non-WoW stuff here, either.
But fear not! You can find me over here form now on, instead. I promise I will still toss out the occasional flowchart, the content will just be a lot more…random in topic.

Things I Learned: Elemental Invasion
Posted by Amber Teasdale in Stuff and Things on November 16, 2010
1) Howling Blast will attract Many Elementals. Many Elementals will kick my ass.
2) The Archbishop is a useless git who doesn’t heal or ANYTHING.
3) Solt stood in fire as DPS. lol. It does indeed hurt and will indeed kill you.
5) Solt stood in fire as tank. lol some more. …oh shit I’m tanking what is this halp. :(
6) …Howling Blast still attacts Many Elementals and Many Elementals still kick my ass.
7) Popping Pillar of Ice means that either the boss will drop Bad on me, or the boss will move. Sigh.
8) HOOOOWWWWWLLLING BLAAAS-FUCK!
9) The run from the graveyard into SW is actually kind of annoying.
MOAR BUBBLES
Posted by Amber Teasdale in Stuff and Things on February 4, 2010
When I first started this blog, my priest was a baby!alt and I was still, first and foremost, a holy paladin. You can see my dusty, out dated paladin stuff still there on the sidebar.
Then the priest hit 80, became my main, and it was all about disc flavored bubbles from there. I was so frustrated with holy paladins that I specced her prot and tanked for a bit. Now she’s essentially retired, down to being logged out in her level 60 gear.
I have, however, somewhat regretted the lack of paladin-bubble flavor in this blog. When my dear Celaeno (Orithea?) posted earlier that she felt odd posting paladin stuff in her Disco Priest blog, I went…hmm.
Hmmm!
I have now extended her author privileges to I Like Bubbles, so she can pepper us with her delightful paladiny goodness.
I Like Bubbles, now with restored hearthing abilities.
ICC, Take Two
Posted by Amber Teasdale in Stuff and Things on December 11, 2009
So BoO poked it’s head into ICC10. Trash was boring this time around, resulting in my 1) running in circles and 2) casting Mind Sear. It was rather amusing to watch our rogue Eviscerate try to disarm the traps and-on at least one occasion-fail miserably and almost get eviscerated himself. Eviscerate is probably the rarest of rogues: one who receives bubbles from me. He’s defying my stereotypical hatred of his class…damn it.
Marrowgar, however, was…not easy. We one shot him, yes (probably in part due to our previous attempts on 25) and didn’t even lose anybody, but it was a near thing. As a healer, at least, I did a lot of flailing and muttering OH MY GOD OH MY GOD under my breath, particularly when my fleeing from the whirlwind o’ doom resulted in me being no where near my assigned tank.
We did it with a tree, a disc priest, and a holy paladin-perhaps not ideal, but it’s actually a combination I adjusted to in Ulduar. Since the paladin has Bacon Hax, I tended to sprinkle bubbles on the raid a little more (occasionally a bubble and a sliver of health was all that stood between someone and death-meep!). This did stretch my mana pool a bit, but a couple of shadow fiends and one lonely mana pot got me through.
So yes, we one shot Marrowgar, and all agreed that it was glorious. Then…then we went to Lady Deathwhisper.
Deathwhisper was…not one shot, but like Thorim, the first phase is key. Once you figure out how to handle the adds, you’re golden. We had two ranged on the boss, the rest (all melee) all the adds. We had no way of handling the deformed uglies aside from…well, face tanking them, so we rotated cooldown because they hit like god damned freight trains. We got her into phase 2 once then wiped, so even though it was time to call it we said…no, no, fuck it, we’re doing this.
Now, historically, we should have walked in there and wiped to something retarded, because this is BoO and that’s just what we DO on the “last try, we were so close!” pulls. This time however, we handled phase one and and smoothly moved into phase two and…ta-da, loot.
I was really fucking pleased, let me tell you. I can’t wait until we go back on Monday.
/rubs her hands together
I will be revising my Marrowgar strat that I posted now that I have a better grip on the fight.
Hunter Flavor: Y’all Can Hate Me Now
Posted by Amber Teasdale in Stuff and Things on October 28, 2009
It had occurred to me that, as a BM hunter, I should really have a Spirit Beast. I mean…yeah, they’re not exactly the choice DPS pet right now, but…dude, Spirit Beast. Every BM hunter should have on in their stable to play Pokemans with, right?
I had looked for Loque a grand total of…once before and the others, never. It being a Tuesday night, I figured that maaaaaybe it was a good day to look. Maaaaybe. So Jamethera hopped on her trusty Netherdrake and toured the Basin. Nada. Well, poop.
What the hell, I thought. Let’s go look for the others. I flappy flappy over to Zul’drak and swoop over Gondria’s spawn points.
At the last one, SilverDragon pings.
OH FUCK.
No really, that’s what I said. “Oh, fuck.”
Naturally she spawned next to the shrine with the elites. Sure enough, mid tame, one of them wanders over and smacks me to death.
“Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck.”
I run back. Rez in a corner. Drop the trap in the corner. Start taming.
Watch a bear walk over to me…
“Fuuuuck.”
Tame completes before the bear goes OMNOMNOM on my face.
“WOOT.”
Now, for the hard part: a name! EYELZRZ?
My original snow leopard, companion through vanilla and all of my BC raiding, is Schneeflocke. My Devilsaur is Omnomnom, because I thought that was the most hilarious name ever for a dinosaur (and still do). The Core Hound is LootTheDog, for all of us former Molten Core raiders. My wolf is Cúchulainn, a figure from Celtic mythology. As you can see, I’m kind of all over the place for pet names. We’ll have to see what “sticks”.
On second thought: another pet to level? FUCK!
MOAR MIND SEAR

Brief Tanky Ramblings
Normal ToC decided to like me and cough up my tanking trinket. Woo! …now to run it some more for the DPS trinket. Pffft. And then some more to get said trinket for ME, because Josh wants said trinket as well on his DK.
Thankfully I had enough defense to drop my Seal of the Pantheon for it, and keep the dodge trinket. I’m also now FINALLY over 30k health in 5 man buffs. Yay! Hopefully she’ll get some more goodies in the Naxx25 run tomorrow (that I’m leading? What? NO! *hands to Josh*). Then I can set her back into her primary alt slot and…
…work on my hunter? Alas, no. Jamethera is stuck as the bastard red headed stepchild of my alts. No, friends, I want to work on my shadow priesting some more.
PTR Changes
Stolen from Duct Tape and a Prayer because I can’t access the official crap:
- Glyph of Mind Flay now Increases the damage done by your Mind Flay spell by 10% when your target is afflicted with Shadow Word: Pain.
- Glyph of Shadow Word: Pain changed to – The periodic damage ticks of your Shadow Word: Pain spell restore 1% of your base mana.
- Glyph of Shadow now increases your spell power by 30% of your spirit for 10 sec. (Up from 10%) (Here’s the current version.)
- Improved Devouring Plague: This spell now deals 10/20/30% of its total periodic effect instantly, up from 5/10/15%.
- Shadowform: This talent also now causes Devouring Plague, Shadow Word: Pain, and Vampiric Touch to benefit from haste. Both the period length and the duration of these spells will be reduced by haste. In addition, the mana cost has been reduced from 32% to 13% of base mana.
- Vampiric Embrace: This ability is now provides a 30-minute buff that cannot be dispelled, instead of a target debuff.

Lookit! Lookit! Buffs! Tasty things! Oh my god! I’m so excited!
…granted I still do less DPS than most of our other shadow priests (HOW? MUST FIX) but YAY! Now we get to cross our fingers and hope these changes don’t get nerfed back into the ground by release time.
Also, I find it terribly ironic that spirit is well-nigh useless to me as a disc priest but…it appears that I want some as shadow. What? Damn you. blizzard, for complicating my two sets of gear!
Oasic, how do you beat me as shadow deeps? I MUST KNOW.
…oh they also made it possible for you to bubble nonraid/party members. Sweet! Thanks Blizz! Now I can run circles around Dalaran randomly bubbling people! YAY!*
*I may or may not be genuinely excited by this development.

PTR Goodies

Day 4 of Amber Is Sick And Thus Posting Crappily shall bring you…
…random spazzing over the current priest t10 bonuses. They may nerf the hell out of these, but for now let’s be excited, okay?
Mmmmmmmm. Tasty. The two piece is…nice, for those oh shit moments. But the 4 piece bonus makes me happy. I don’t know about you, but I’m a veritable flash heal spam bot on tanks-at least, during those “LOL OMG DAMAGE ON THE TANK” fights that Blizzard seems to have gotten so fond of lately. 15% isn’t a loooot, but it’ll be handy, I think. It’s also one more tool in the box for those of us bizarre disc priests who sometimes raid heal (ever get invited to a VoA pug to heal with 3 holy paladins? …yeah).
Of course the real question is…will the stats continue to utterly suck for one spec or the other?
Will I want more haste now? For more flash heals? Hmmmmm. Hmmmmmmmm.
So about that pattern.

Mim wasn’t a smooth waltz in and one shot, but we still improved by leaps and bounds and he did, eventually, fall. And drop loot that no one really cared for because we all had better-go figure.
And as they descended down the shattered hallway, Lyrandre stopped to gape. In all her years, she’d seen nothing quite like this. What had rampaged down this hallway with so little care for the timeless beauty?
Oh. That.
This fight proved that the healers of BoO are amazing. Why are we amazing? Because not only did we do a lovely job of keeping the tank up, but we kept the tank up despite one of the DPS failing at shadow crash seven mother fucking times. And that’s only the one DPS, mind. A couple of others failed it a less-failtacular but still WTF-inducing 4 times. Quit staring at the meters, guys. Seriously.
Oh and don’t pull aggro. *stares*
After Mimiron he actually seemed rather easy.
On to Yoggy!
Vezax strat will come out as soon as I…figure out what everyone else was actually doing.
